5 stars - A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Nature
From the moment I set foot in Stavros tis Psokas Forest, I was captivated by its enchanting beauty. Nestled in the serene heart of Cyprus, this forest is a true testament to nature's splendor.
The towering trees, some of which seem to reach the heavens, create a majestic canopy that offers a tranquil respite from the sun. Walking through this forest feels like stepping into another world, where time slows down and the hustle of daily life fades away.
One of the most remarkable sights is the Cyprus mouflon. These creatures, unique to the island, are a rare and beautiful sight. Observing them in their natural habitat is a privilege and serves as a reminder of the wonders that nature holds.
But perhaps the most striking feature of Stavros tis Psokas is the energy that permeates the air. There's a sense of peace and purity here that I've found nowhere else. It's as if the forest itself is alive, whispering ancient secrets through the rustling of leaves and the distant calls of wildlife.
Whether you're a nature lover, a photography enthusiast, or simply in need of some solitude, Stavros tis Psokas Forest is a place that will touch your soul. It's not just the scenery that's stunning—it's the feeling you get when you're there, a profound connection to the earth and all its wonders.
Don't miss the opportunity to visit this hidden gem. It's a refreshing escape that will leave you rejuvenated and in awe of the natural world.

Read moreIt is a very remote area. There were warning signs about rock falls on the road. That was unfortunately correct. I had to dodge hundreds of rocks on the road while driving. I hit 1 rock with my tyre which then hit the underside of the hire car. After that, there was a strange smell. Oh God! I thought it was probably an oil leak and we had minutes left until the car broke down. There was no mobile reception in the mountains. The last car we had seen was 40 minutes ago. We had passed an army base about 2 to 3 miles back so I was ready to walk there for help if needed. Fortunately, the smell was just the pine trees and when I crawled under the car, there was no leak! Sorry for the lack of photos, but I was worried about the car breaking down and so photos was the last thing I...
Read moreThe road up is quite windy so if your afraid of heights make sure you take your time. It is definitely worth the trip up however, absolutely stunning vistas and if you get there at the right time you'll get postcard-worthy pictures all around. Very unassuming but the view just sneaks up on you as you drive higher and higher. There are lots of passing places and spots you can stop at for a breather, so its by no means a marathon, just takes a little bit longer to get up there as the road is very windy. The trees are beautiful and the area is very natural, you cant even see the road below so when you look down all you see are trees and mountains. I cant stress enough how beautiful it is here, but make sure to drive as its not really accessible for walking.. it...
