Really enjoyed this trail, the first 1km is an uphill winding path which is on the side the sun is beating down on, but once you reach the bench below the fire lookout station, it’s a breeze from there. It’s a relatively moderate climb on the first km but easy in trainers if you take your time. The next 2km (we took short route as travelling with toddler in carrier) was nearly all downhill and a lot in the shade. Well worth the battle climbing up the first 1km. Car park is about 200m beyond where the tarmac / concrete road ends, it’s not too bad - slightly washed out but a competent driver will manage it in a normal car to the main car park and picnic area. There’s always the option to park 250 beforehand if you don’t fancy driving on the track. There are toilets in main car park and a bbq area with benches. No drinking water so bring plenty with you. Along the trail expect to see interesting plants and shrubs, butterflies, crickets, birds and some good sized lizards amongst other things! Lots of evidence of goats (poo) but we didn’t see any. The views are amazing and almost 360 degree as you make your way round the slope and back to the car park. There’s a nice breeze up the top. One of the best trails we did on Cyprus. Visited end of Nov in wonderful weather. The trail is fairly quiet at this time of the year and it’s a tranquil and peaceful walk, perfect before grabbing lunch at a winery. When you reach the vehicle track that goes up to the fire lookout head left and downwards unless you want to get a better view of the lookout. The track goes down hill at this point which wasn’t obviously clear to us at the time. Digital trail map available to download at the information sign at the start.

Really lovely walk with coastal views, very easy (hardest bit is the first 400m then it evens out). We did the full 7km and it took 1h30. The picnic area is massive and has toilets, spaces for bbqs and plenty of picnic benches. Make sure you take water as there’s none there and quite a lot of the walk is in full sun. It is mostly really well signposted (just a couple of turn you need to double check!). However, the access road is a dirt track, which is fine to access from the village, but do not follow the sat nav and continue the dirt track if heading on from there towards Lara beach, as the road is awful and definitely not suitable for hire cars!!!

A deservedly popular loop trail with very beautiful views of the sea, valley and mountains. The long version of the trail is about 5.5 km long, but there is also a shorter version of about 2.5 km. Long route of moderate complexity, the most difficult in the beginning of the way during the ascent of the mountain but then it is easy enough, finished in about 2 hours with children 4 and 10 years old. The children especially liked the caves. Along the way there are benches to rest and enjoy the views. At the end of the trail there is a very nice picnic area with water, toilets and barbecue area. I highly recommend it.

If you like walking then this is a must. Head towards Neo Chorio and keep going. After about 5 minutes you will enter the national park. The road is not tarmac but is good enough for standard tyres. Keep going past the Church on the right hand side. You will see on the right hand side a fork to the right which takes you down to a picnic area and plenty of space for parking. There are toilets a public bbq plinth and plenty of picnic tables. Here you can find the start of various trails. The basic loop trail is approx 3km. Not much in distance but the walk is uphill and in the heat with limited cover. Proper walking footwear trainers required and water. The scenery is serene and beautiful. Very quiet and well worth a trip in the morning before the...
