A very old and distinctive monastery that is well looked after. Founded in 1770 by a monk ans is dedicated to Virgin Mary. I have attended and evening service which was very moving. There's a shop on the grounds of the monastery selling icons, books and their own wine from the monastery's vineyards. Also there's a courtyard at the rear of the monastery with great views. Appropriate wear is a must and if you haven't got any the monastery got some to borrow the visitors. Before you enter the monastery by the parking space there's a 130 pinus brutia tree. A great...

The drive to this monastery was spectacular and so were the views once we got there. On arrival, there are a few parking spaces on the road. There is a cafe, if you are in need of refreshments. There is no fee to enter the monastery, although you must wear appropriate clothing, and be covered up. There are a couple of courtyards and the church to look around (no photos or filming in the church itself). There is a shop selling some religious items, but also bottles of the various wines they...

Amazing view. Comfortable benches in the back. The small church is very pretty. A calming serene place. In the winter. Gratis admission. Deserted mostly. Just a few friendly monks walking around. And cats. In the summer, when a wine tasting tour bus shows up, I'm sure it's a busy place.

It's not easy to get to. The road is fantastic, paved, and safe, but driving can be a bit tedious. Take your time.

WCs available inside. Small shop is open selling...

That monastery is like a paradise. Absolutely recommend it. It has a coffee shop outside and a lot small markets around. The monastery itself is a stone building with a really big and nice garden with incredible view. They produce their own wine and spices and some fruits. Your soul calms when you are in there. Also there are a lot of tourist guides that give a tour in the church and the friars are vey friendly and polite to people.
