Museum of Historical Vehicles — Attraction in okres České Budějovice

I will give 5 stars because although many people have commented that the 3 buildings are rammed full of junk and covered in dust with poor lighting, (it's really not that bad) this is a private collection and that mustn't be forgotten. There is a lot of stuff here, a lot, so much so, that my wife eventually dragged me out - I could have been there a lot longer. Yes, there is dust and organised chaos - but it is a private collection and I take my hat off to them. I would go back with other friends or family if I was in the area again. Especially nostalgic if you're in your late 50's...

Zwischen Mähdrescher und Butterfass – ein Museum wie der Dachboden der Geschichte

Das „Museum für Vehikel und Fahrzeuge“ ist weniger ein geordnetes Automuseum und mehr ein liebevoll-chaotisches Sammelsurium aus über 120 Jahren Technik- und Alltagsgeschichte.

Neben mehreren Mähdreschern, alten Traktorenteilen, einer beachtlichen Sammlung alter Motorräder und landwirtschaftlicher Geräte, findet man hier auch Dinge wie Butterfässer, Röhrenfernseher, Waschmaschinen und Radios aus allen Epochen.

Zwar gibt es eine Halle mit Fahrzeugen, darunter vor allem tschechische Marken wie Škoda, Tatra und Aero, doch überwiegen eindeutig die anderen Ausstellungsstücke. Ein paar alte Kutschen und Schlitten sind auch dabei – aber wer hier auf glänzende Motorhauben und perfekt restaurierte Klassiker hofft, ist vielleicht am falschen Ort.

Für Fans von Kuriositäten, Nostalgie und „Weißt du noch, damals?“ eine unterhaltsame Reise. Für reine Autoliebhaber eher eine Sammlung mit sehr breitem Fokus – irgendwo zwischen Technikmuseum, Bauernhof-Inventar...

This is not a “professional museum “ , it’s run by an older guy and it is a private collection. It’s not kept clean and perfect, however it’s a great place to remember certain things from the past.
