Farmapark — Attraction in okres Benešov

It was recommended to me so I arrived unbiased and in a positive mood. It only lasted till we got to the entrance, here we were a bit shocked by the price. The entry fee is more than in Prague zoo and kids pay almost the same. They do ask you if you want to buy extras - for example for a chance to feed the animals - but a child cannot do it alone, so you must pay for a parent too. There is the prepaid cards only system to pay for any food within the park. So we left the entrance confused and with a feeling of being robbed. On the positive side there was no queue. Inside we wanted to do the animal feeding, which is paid extra, and happens only twice a day. We were first ignored by the stuff and then chased away. At that moment we wanted to leave. I can go on describing the unhappy stuff, unfinished enclosures and poor quality of some playgrounds. But it only brings back unpleasant memories. The place itself is set in a lovely landscape and the park has a potential, but it's a no return under the current management. I certainly won't...

I am going to give only 3 stars. Farma Park is a nice location and there is a big BUT. Positive: big outside area, a few interesting animals (camels & colleagues). There are some nice free attractions, such as driving with electric safari vehicles and taking a dry tire slide. It's great for spending some time with kids. BUT, looking at the price, it didn't feel worth it to me. 2 adults and a small child: over 1,000 CZK is way too much, compared to other offers on the Czech Republic (e.g. Prague Zoo). The worst part was the food. We paid over 500 czk for a buffet that was essentially almost inedible. It was the simplest, cheapest, low quality cafeteria food I've had in a long time. Essentially army noodles with ketchup in a few variations, Limonade with 30% sugar, etc. Excuse my language, but to me this feels like a complete rip off. Dangerous!!!! Do not go here with children under the age of 5. There are electric fences surrounding all the animals which are the first fence the children come too as they enter the farm. My naturally excited two yr old ran towards the fence of the first animals he saw and was electrocuted so was I as I pulled in off. There was no barrier to prevent him from touching the fence the whole fence was live even at toddler height. In the UK this childrens farm would be immediately closed as a danger for children. If my son had a heart condition he could have died. He was lucky he just had a very nasty shock it was strong as I felt it also. He was very very distressed. The manager told me it's up to the parents to stop the children from electucting themselves. Clearly he has no idea about the unpredictability of excited children and no care for their welfare.
