RETROAUTOMUZEUM — Attraction in okres Benešov

I saw a sign for this museum when driving between Linz Austria and Prague. I decided on my way back to Linz to stop in. It’s ~15-20 minutes from the main road, surrounded by beautiful Czech countryside.

The museum is very clean and orderly. It’s got tons of great Eastern European cars which I found very interesting coming from the West. It’s organized very well and the cars are in good shape. The museum is set up in sections which I felt flowed really well. The employees were kind and patient with me as I communicated through a translate app.

Overall I really enjoyed this place. The drive to it was great and my hour or so spent here was well worth it, although I probably would have spent more time if I could read Czech as the plaques on each car did not show any English. A translate app would have fixed that for myself, but I was happy enough just walking through and looking at all the machines....

Amazing auto museum that lives through the passion of one man. Tenths and tenths of cars in perfect state or waiting for restauration. Former eastern countries cars with some unique models. All those jewels somewhere in the deep Czech country. You can have a ride in one of those iconic cars and even (yes !) maybe hold the wheel... A place to see absolutely if you have a passion for...

Návštěva Retroautomuzea ve Strnadicích byla fascinující cestou do minulosti. Pro mě, jako člověka, který auta z dob bývalého východního bloku zažil, ale nikdy je nevlastnil, to byla skvělá příležitost prožít retro s jasným dovysvětlením, jak tehdejší svět motorismu fungoval. Zatímco já jsem si nostalgicky vzpomínal, děti jenom zíraly, na čem se tehdy jezdilo, a udiveně se ptaly, jestli to vůbec fungovalo. Je to skvělý důkaz toho, jak muzeum dokáže oslovit všechny generace.

Muzeum nabízí nejen přehlídku ikonických aut, ale také pocity a příběhy, které se k nim vážou. Velmi se mi líbily dobové expozice, jako byla vstupní hala, retro pokoje a bufet ve stejném stylu. Díky nim se člověk opravdu ponoří do atmosféry doby.

Co se týče exponátů, byl to pro mě zážitek! Na vlastní oči jsem viděl Velorex a musím říct, že naživo vypadá ještě zajímavěji. Líbila se mi i spousta dalších aut, hlavně Škoda 100, Rapid a Garde, Fiat 500 a sanitka Mercedes, které vypadaly opravdu skvěle.

Pokud váháte, jestli se tam vydat, tak neváhejte a zajeďte do Strnadic. Muzeum je skvělá volba pro všechny, kteří chtějí zažít nostalgii, nebo se jednoduše podívat, na čem se jezdilo...
