Lovely zoo in Brno! We got there on foot from our hotel since the parking was really small and totally packed with cars already. We went to get our tickets but unfortunately the cashier did not speak a single word English and kind of rudely suggested we should go to the other cashier. When we got in, the map was a little confusing because the paths go everywhere but if you spend a whole day in the zoo, there’s plenty of time to see every animal as we did. The enclosures of the animals were quite big and spacious compared to other zoos I’ve been to so that was good. The animals got really close as well and the bear especially seemed friendly 😸 We unfortunately didn’t get to see the polar bears because the path was unsafe but we did get to see the tigers being fed as well as some other animals who were just fed and eating. I recommend putting on some good shoes because it’s quite some hiking on some paths. It’s dog friendly but there are a few paths where the dogs can’t go which is understandable. The toilets were a bit gross and there weren’t many options in the restaurant in my opinion. Other than that, I would come again in the future, hopefully to see the polar bears!

This is a great place to bring family, friends and loved ones either with children or not. There are lots to see and learn for children and adults too. Make sure to take plenty of fluids and everyone should be in good health since there is a lengthy pathway and it is ascending - going up a hill. There is also a train service offered to those who want one for a price. There are also quite a few snack, ice cream and drinks stalls dotted around the zoo for refreshments. There lots of animals, reptiles, birds and much more to see. There are also a few toilets and rest areas for one to sit and catch their breath before moving on to next destination. There is very limited parking before the entrance and the best way would be to take a bus or tram to this destination. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy a day out. Thank you and have a great time 👍🌞

We came here with Brno pass, difficult to enter as cashier didn't speak English and didn't want to accept our brno pass. The zoo is not very maintained comparing with other zoos I just visited in Europe. There were almost no staff around, the map was a drawing in the local langauge so we had to try to figure out the small picture that was given to us how to explore. The zoo is big and has many paths so you will end up losing more time going back and forth trying to find your way not miss the animals, hence we lost 3 hours and still didn't managed to see a quarter of the animals as it was impossible to figure out where to go. The animals here seemed depressed and you couldn't interact with any of them as like the zoo in Salzburg where you could feed the bunnies and pet the red panda etc. Here the red panda was very far away in the forest and you couldn't even get close to their places. Also they use a lot of cages with electric shock and very small places. I have been in may zoos but here you could tell there is animal abuse. I would reccomend the one in salzburg for those who want to interact with animals.

A great place to spend time with kids outdoors. Be ready to stay here all day long. Animals have a lot of space and obviously feel comfortable. It‘s pleasant to see them not in usual cages but surrounded with space close to natural conditions. Brno zoo is not so big as Zürich‘s for example. There are not so many birds, and there you won’t find penguins, elephants, hippos and rhinoceros. But it is worth visiting it. There are a lot of play grounds and places, where you can buy snacks, ice cream or something to drink. I’ve counted 4 WC on the territory we’ve visited. It’s not allowed to use scooters, bicycles (even kids). But with additional ticket you can come here with your dog. Free parking. Contact zoo (with domestic animals). For additional payment there is a pony ride and climbing road for your child.

Brno zoo is nice but a little sad. Good first, the tickets are not very expensive and there is a student discount. There are a lot of animals to see. Peacocks roam around which is cool. There is food and coffee all around and it is generally not awfully priced. The bad is that the animal enclosures seem a bit small and some animals don't seem to have the best enclosure for turmeric. I am no zoologist, but I don't think a polar bear should be alone and in an enclosure without snow or ice. Instead the polar bear was chilling on a rock next to the water while it was ~75°F which doesn't seem right to me. So the zoo is a good way to spend an afternoon but idk if I really want to support it. If you do go, be prepared for hills.
