Landštejn Castle is a 13th-century castle in Staré Město pod Landštejnem in Jindřichův Hradec District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. The first written record of the castle is from 1231, at which time it was the largest Romanesque castle in the Czech lands.

One of the best preserved castle ruins in the country. The largest tower provides good views of the surrounding forests, well worth the 150ish steps up to the top.
A selfguided tour allows you to take your time or race through and then relax in the moat/park and do come cross/bow shooting. Not sure if and how guided tours work.

We had a great tour of the castle. The tour guide shared lots of interesting information and was able to answer many questions.
Some of the rooms are very well preserved and it was great to have a look into the past.
