Schloss Kunín — Attraction in okres Nový Jičín

Kunin Castle (Czech: Zámek Kunín) is a Baroque-Classicist building standing in a vast park. In the past, it was a center of culture and education patronized by the owners. Currently, after reconstruction, almost 20 castle rooms are open to the public. You can see restored classicist wall paintings. The living room, music room, school room, owners 'daughters' room and many others were also reconstructed.

The castle design is the only work in the Czech Republic of the famous Viennese architect Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt. To this day, his chimney system is considered a brilliant example of the technique of that period. The period of the greatest glory of the castle fell at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. Its owners were then involved in the cultural life of the country. Artists and musicians visited the castle. A very high school was also opened here. Its graduate was, among others, the Czech historian František Palacký.

Since 1999, works have been carried out in the castle to restore its former splendor. Further rooms are being restored, and the collections of former owners' art are returning to the rooms. Ahoj! I am a Portuguese girl of the world, traveled a lot and finally I got a chance to visit the Czech Republic. During my time there I had the opportunity to visit your château.

I was really surprised how beautiful it is, especially after seeing that it was in ruins. The choice of connecting objects from different eras paid off and the château brings history alive right in front of your eyes.

I also must say I was impressed how David narrated the tour. He managed to find something interesting for people of different ages and nationalities, all that in English. Amazing for such a yang man!

Zámek asi nebude patřit k těm několika spíše komerčních a známých v ČR, ale svou důstojnou roli může klidně hrát. Především bych zmínil stav BEFORE a následně AFTER při rekonstrukci na přelomu 21.století, kdy, zaplať pánu Bohu, objekt převzala obec Kunín a s dotací 70mil. Kč (vlastní zdroje ještě +cca 15mil. Kč) do svých rukou a dokázali s odborníky navrátit zámku lesk a snad i slávu, i když ne již jako tomu zcela jistě muselo být v dobách minulých (počátek 18.stol.-1945). Neuvěřitelným způsobem se jim podařilo Zámku vdechnout opět život, nové výmalby stěn budí dojem dávné minulosti, jejich rekonstrukce z dochovaných materiálů musela být piplačka. Mnoho originálních věcí a pěkných obrazů osob spjatých se Zámkem dnes doprovodil mladý průvodce, jenž znalostmi a přístupem při zodpovídání mnoha dotazů až snad jakoby familierně laděnou prohlídkou. Venku mimo hlavní objekt se ještě nachází opravená dobová kuželna, údajně sveho druhu u nás jediný kus. Upravený prostor před zámkem v podobě zastřižených keřů ucelil celý dojem. Součástí je i Kostel Povýšení sv. Kříže, jenž svou monumentálností značí o víře v té době a zřejmě i dodnes. Zajímavostí je poměrně nevídaně řešený vstup šlechty do kostela. Sociální zázemí v...
