Zámeček Memorial — Attraction in okres Pardubice

In the suburbs of Pardubice, this is not a hard place to find, but takes a bit of effort to get to - it’s an easy 45-minute walk through pleasant suburbs from the centre, although buses are available for those able to crack the system. A monument and museum built on the site used by the Nazis for executions after the assassination of Heydrich, this poignant memorial is sensitively and carefully presented. The exhibition is in a concrete bunker, and opts for simplicity and key information rather than trying to pack too much in. Pietní místo se nachází na okraji Pardubic, na území bývalé obory, která patřila k honosné Larischově vile místními nazývané Zámeček.

Vilu s rozlehlým lesem v období protektorátu zabrala nacistická pořádková policie. Ta si v oboře vyhlédla odlehlé místo s písečným valem, u kterého si zřídila cvičnou střelnici.

Po rozpoutání heydrichiády byli lidé z Pardubicka a okolí zatčeni gestapem a po postupném přivezení prakticky ihned přiváděni na střelnici.

Výjimkou byli lidé z Ležáků, kteří byli na několik hodin drženi ve sklepení Zámečku.
