I visited Sumava for one day hike (cerne jezera, bila strz area). As a nature experience, I must say the place was a disappointment and would not recommend the place for international tourists, at least for hiking.

1. The hiking paths were mainly broad paved roads planned primarily for cyclists. Streams had been channeled to both sides of the road. I would prefer actual footpaths for hiking which would give a more natural untouched experience.
2. There were large areas of dead forests (I found out that they are dead because of bark beetle). They weren't explained in any way. I would have expected some sign posts about them. I would have been interested to hear more.
3. Large areas had been logged and you could hear chain saw in a couple of areas. This doesn't belong to a national park in my mind. The logged trees...
