Via Ferrata Water Gate — Attraction in okres Semily

Pokud patříte mezi zkušené vysokohorské turisty či horolezce, můžete si zpestřit výlet v přírodní rezervaci Údolí Jizery. Na skalním masívu Vodní brána jsou vybudovány dvě trasy, červená jednosměrná ferrata s obtížností C+, (v rakouské klasifikaci obtížnosti A F snadné extrémně náročné) je náročnější, dlouhá 110 metrů, čas lezení okolo 30 minut. Modrá ferrata, lehčí náročnosti (obtížnost B), vede po úbočí skalního masívu a je vhodná pro začátečníky. Zároveň slouží také jako sestupová trasa. Je dlouhá 90 metrů, čas lezení je do 20 minut.

If you are one of the experienced alpine hikers or mountaineers, you can enrich a trip in the Jizera Valley Nature Reserve with a bit of a climbing. There are two routes on the rock massif Water Gate, the red one-way ferrata with difficulty C + (in the Austrian difficulty classification A F is extremely difficult) which is more demanding, 110 meters long, with climbing time about 30 minutes. Blue ferrata, lightweight (difficulty B), runs along the slope of the rock massif and is suitable for beginners. It also serves as a descent route. It is 90 meters long, with climbing time is within 20 minutes.

Po pravém břehu Jizery vede údolím Riegrova stezka ze Semil do Železného Brodu. Stezka je zčásti vylámaná ve skále a vede také po 77 m dlouhé železné visuté galerii. Zajímavostí stezky je 77 metrů dlouhá visutá galerie vybudovaná 5,5 metru nad původní hladinou řeky. Pokud vyrazíte ze Semil, dočkáte se jí zhruba po 10 minutách chůze. Na protějším břehu můžete obdivovat skalní stěnu via ferrrata - první "zajištěnou" horolezeckou cestu u nás. Stavba samotné lávky (visuté galerie) započala roku 1908. Skála, ve které je galerie ukotvená, je z albitické žuly, která je velmi tvrdá. Ukotvení ocelové lávky bylo z tohoto důvodu velmi složité. Zpřístupnění lávky proběhlo roku 1909.

On the right bank of Jizera, the Riegr´s path runs through the valley from Semily to Železný Brod. The trail is partly cut into a rock and also leads along a 77 m long iron hanging gallery. Super place to start your journey with via ferratas. We (me and my gf) never tried it before and wouldn’t go straight to alps for difficult one with our experienced friends and it perfect place to see is it for you or not. 3 different patches/lines from Easy through Intermediate to Harder One. We did first 2 and was great. Helmets highly recommended and longer clothing as well. 5-7min walk from parking (not the biggest one ) for which you could pay by card or cash. Great via ferrata (actually 3 routes) with amazing views. There is one path for beginners or children and two other for more experienced climbers. On the violet route there is a difficult part, but it is possible to use an easier alternative. I loved it mainly for the views and alternatives.
