The natural monument Čimické Údolí was declared in 1968. The Čimický stream flows across the entire territory. Its upper course is copied by a blue marked hiking trail and it is a beautiful place for a walk that will completely clear your head. The area was inhabited during the Stone Age. Over time, it began to be used mainly for agriculture. The geomorphological basis of the valley was formed 2.5 billion to 542 million years ago, but its current character was significantly affected during the Quaternary period. The territory of the natural monument covers an area of less than 11 hectares at an altitude of 240–270 meters and is part of the Drahaň-Troja Nature Park with an area of 578 hectares, which is located on the right bank of the Vltava from Jabloňka to the northern border of Prague. It is an area that has long been inhabited, as evidenced by two important prehistoric strongholds - Castles and Na Farkách. Since the Middle Ages, the area of the nature park has been largely covered with vineyards.

Dear Mr Bobek,

I visit Praha Zoo yesterday and wanted to share my experience with you regarding this visit.

What's working for you?

Value for money - starting price of 200 Chz was pocket friendly

Multiple counters in all locations for people to eat or drink during their visit.

Excellent concept of free bird section which allows you to connect with Nature.

Loved the seat trolley to reach the mountain top

Cleanliness for guest area

What needs to be improve urgently?

Few animals dont have water available in their section and look completely dihydrated in the afternoon with temperatures going higher than 30 degrees approx

Polar Bears need your attention immediately, they are kept in open area in such extreme hot temperatures with very dirty water. Please fix this else they will die of weakness. One polar bear was sleeping with his tough falling out completely.

Glass not clean to view animals kept inside.. 90% of the glass separating us with animals was full of stains and hand marks which require urgent cleaning.

Zero water coolers for Guest to drink water and lots of animals have empty bowls all afternoon

Lot of section have animals missing

Penguins section has been managed very poorly.

I have visited lots of Zoo's and Aquarium abroad however at Praha Zoo animals are not kept at their best comfort. Could sleep last night till i did not send you this email.

Hoping for a positive change...

Even in my age, I do visit the Prague Zoo eventhough 'nature park' sounds better. Placed in a beautiful area in Prague called after the Châteaux just opposite of the entrance.

The park is spread over a truly large area with many hills, turns and individual open air zones for large animals. Others are built-in buildings accommodating nocturnal creatures.

All in all a very important place to see and experience & not only kids will be delighted. Its not a place with a couple of sad creatures are shown in a cage but rather an organisation that is very heavily invested in education + conservation. They're especially proud amongst many projects being one of the oldest organisations breeding the Mongolian Przewalski horses that were near extinction crowned by a successful ambition releasing already 31 horses in the Mongolian steps with an ever growing population.

Possible to have a board ride from the city centre to the vicinity of the zoo with a pleasant walk through a green park just across the river with the zoo and Troja Chateau.

Easily by Metro+ bus ride and doesn't take too long either.

Otherwise many opportunities for snacks, drinks and proper food Complementary services and family rates is a nice...

It's large, very large. When you enter you think we will easily be able to see everything, think again. There is so much to see and so far to walk. They say they have around 10 km of paths to walk. But oh boy is it worth it. The entire zoo is very pretty. Some of the enclosures are a bit older, but even those look quite nice. It's also a very good location for kids. There are loads of playgrounds. Every enclosures that's a bit bigger has some interaction for the children and they even have a cable lift train they will love. (They do cost more like 5-10 crowns) For the adults under us, you will have a great time as well. There are so many different varieties of animals that you will wonder how on Earth they all got them. There are also interesting stories on wildlife preservation. And if you are tired of walking you can sit down and enjoy the amazing view of the city because the zoo is located on a nice hill. In short definitely worth a visit if you are in Prague;

We learnt a lot today. And seen some really strange animals for the first time. A great park where seems to care slot for the animals. They would have gotten a 5star rating if it hadn't been for the bitter man in the lift. I told my kids that they should be prepared to get off the lift. But since we are swedes, we don't understand Czech. I was sitting in last of us three. I saw the man saying something to my daughter, but she didn't understand. So he pressed the emergency button and almost threw her out of the seat. He started the lift again and when it was my son's turn, he unhooked the safety chain and grabbed his arm and ripped him off the seat. Luckily so wasn't my son hurt. I was quite mad but it was no use to talk to him since didn't understand English, and I'm not that good at it.
