Slavkov forest — Attraction in Sokolov District

I have been regularly visiting Karlovy Vary for the last ten years each time paying particular attention to the forest. In fact, when I come to think of it, the forest seems to be the ultimate driving factor that makes me return here again and again. In dem riesigen Gebiet des Kaiserwaldes (Slavkovski les) findet man neben vielen Mineralquellen, Serpentinensträßchen wie in den Alpen, gut beschiderten Rad- und Wanderwegen, einsamen Hochflächen kaum Menschen. Wer Ruhe sucht, dem kann man diese Region sehr empfehlen. Die Wege sind gut beschildert und an besnderen Orten gibt es Informationstafeln, die meisten in tschechisch, deutsch und englisch.

Viele geschichtsträchtige Orte liegen im Kaiserwald, dessen Gipfel über 800m erreichen, Becov, Kladska, Prameny, Mnichov und Tepl sind nur einige davon. Am Rand des Gebiets findet man die tschechischen Kurbäder Karlsbad im Norden, Königswart im Westen und Marienbad im Südwesten.

Sehr empfehlenswert ist die Strecke von Kynsvart über die Kladska, Prameny und Mnichov zum Stift Tepl. Die Straßen sind teilweise nicht der Hit aber die Landschaft hat auf jeden Fall einen besonderen Reiz.

Unsere letzte Tour führte uns von Waldsassen über Cheb (Eger) und Brezova (Ausfahrt 146 - von der Autobahn Eger - Karlsbad) nach Krasno nad Teplou nach Becov. Die 21022 ist in einem bemerkenswert guten Zustand. Von Brezova führt die Straße stetig bergauf bis man bei Lobzy das Plateau erreicht. Weiße Rinder tummeln sich auf den ausgedehnten Weiden ehe es auf Alleen mit alten Ahornbäumen wieder ins Tal geht. In Krasno machen wir Halt und schauen uns die Umgebung der Kirche näher an. (English review is below) CHKO specifická tím, že mnoho obcí zde bylo zlikvidováno díky těžbě uranu nebo i díky tomu, že šlo nějakou dobu o vojenský újezd (50./60. léta). Jsou zde tedy dlouhé cesty lesy (většinou smrkové, občas více a více opět smíšené), rašeliniště, bezzásahová území rezervací, ale také dlouhá stoka pro plavení dřeva a napájení dolů v Horním Slavkově a soustava pár rybníků ze středověku. Doporučuji zejména návštěvu rybníku Kladská, případně jedné ze dvou loveckých restaurací (jak dražší pro cizince, tak jedna pro běžné návštěvníky) nebo Domu přírody, kde je možné zhlédnout 3D dokument o celé oblasti a poučit se o přírodě (ideální pro děti).
