It was a wonderful experience to be able to visit the zoo with our dog! They must of course go always on-leash, and some areas are off-limits (like the tigers/lions area and children playground) but it's great to be able to spend a nice day with them. You can see several families walking around with their dogs. Inside the zoo there are several "dog bars" where they can drink water. The zoo itself is nice, the animals look well kept and clean (it's not depressing as other zoos we've visited). Adult tickets cost DKK 210 in the summer, DKK 125 for children (3-11 y/o), and students can get a discount and pay DKK 168. During winter it costs DKK 190 for adults, DKK 105 children and DKK 152 for students. If you go by car you can park nearby for free; otherwise you can get there easily by bike or bus. A really interesting Zoo--- for "kids of all ages"!! The Zoo, in this smaller Danish city, is "Dinosaur Themed", has many things to make much more interesting... The animals, of many species, are located "quite close" to the visitor, and this makes for better viewing and "animal behaviour observing"! While it is a "good size" it is not "overbearing". The gardens also add to the "enjoyable ambience"... and the picnic areas even offer "Barbecue Grills" (at no additional charge) if one wishes to Barbecue (or re-heat) food that are brought. The Zoo has also earned TripAdvisor's coveted "Certificate of Excellence"... It is well worthy of a visit!

Ein toller Zoo mit viel Abwechslung. Am Anfang eine große Vogelvoliere mit einigen wenigen Vögeln drin. Dann beeindrucken die Dinosaurier. Highlight ist das Löwen- und Tigergehege. Man kann von oben in die Gehege schauen, in beide gleichzeitig. Oder man geht in einen kleinen Tunnel und schaut bei der Fütterung zu. Das Giraffengehege ist sehr groß, die Elefanten dagegen haben sehr wenig Platz(ich bin der Meinung, das so große Tiere nichts in Zoos zu suchen haben). Es gibt verschiedene Aquarien, Schlangen und Echsen. Überrascht wird man von einem riesigen(!) Krokodil. Und das nicht weit weg, sondern nur durch eine Glasscheibe getrennt. Das Essen im Restaurant war sehr lecker, sehr zu empfehlen ist der Rippchenbürger. Es gibt aber auch ein Restaurant mit selbstgemachter Pizza.

En fantastisk zoologisk have med en masse variation. I begyndelsen er der en stor fuglevoliere med et par fugle i. Så imponerer dinosaurerne. Højdepunktet er løve- og tigerindhegningen. Du kan se ind i indhegningerne fra oven, ind i begge på samme tid. Eller du går ind i en lille tunnel og ser dem blive fodret. Girafindhegningen er meget stor, men elefanterne har meget lidt plads (jeg er af den opfattelse, at så store dyr ikke har nogen plads i zoologiske haver). Der er forskellige akvarier, slanger og firben. Du vil blive overrasket af en kæmpe(!) krokodille. Og ikke langt væk, bare adskilt af en rude. Maden i restauranten var meget velsmagende, ribbensburgeren kan varmt anbefales. Der er også en restaurant med hjemmelavet pizza.
