One of the 6 forgotten giants. The whole idea of using recycled tree in order to built those giants around the Western suburbs of Copenhagen is genius. However, some of the locations are quite remote (and I mean remote!) and difficult to reach for people with walking disabilities or small children. Of course it is the whole idea of being hidden in the bushes (understand nature), but when I had to avoid about 20 unleashed dogs of owners that did not care about the other people who walked past them, it makes it like a mission impossible. And whole idea of enjoying the experience is fading. It is actually against the Danish law to unleash your dog in an area where there are other people and it is considered an urban area. Even though it is in an open air space and near a forest, that does not exempt the owners to put a leash on their dogs. After finding the statue you realise it is turned to a children' playground (nothing against this, I have a child myself) and is kind of too little to do there. It does not compensate the long walk to it. Same goes for the other hidden giant located half a km away from this one, which was even more remote than Thomas on...
Read moreWe visited this place following the trolls built by Thomas Dambo,
Parking: There is plenty of free parking with few spots for electric charging as well.
You have to walk few hundred meters to meet thomas by the mountain and there are few shortcuts which u could explore by climbing the small hills, The troll is relaxing, lying down and looks peaceful. We enjoyed our time, it is one of the many in and around copenhagen region, there are few more all over Denmark.
If u look at the map, u will also find the troll little Thilde near by, u have to find the place where you can use a tow ferry to cross the lake and visit little thilde, it was an amazing and first off experience, The tow ferry was well maintained and fun with family
Definitely a recommended to spend super good time with family , there are places for...
Read moreA good winter's day is spent outside. Discovering two trolls in relative proximity was a good reason for the family to explore here. Unfortunately, the self-propelling raft bridge across th lake, watched over by Little Tilde, was not in operation. The 'mountain', upon which Thomas rests, is a short but challenging climb and provides good views over Vestegnen when you reach the summit. The nearby restaurant looks inviting. There is also the possibility of kayaking on the lake. The park is well served by cycle lanes and there is a legepladsen to the north side for young children. There are a few grills for BBQ and space for picnics and outdoor games/sport. We will certainty be returning in summer...
