Glud Museum — Attraction in Hedensted Municipality

Idyllic and quirky little museum established by Søren Knudsen, a local artist and craftsman, at the turn of the twentieth century. He saved historic farm buildings from nearby that would have been demolished - the museum gives a great sense of what it would have been like to be a peasant in west Jutland in the C18th and 19th. The highlight is Knudsen’s house, which sits adjacent to the museum and has a really entertaining display of his art and sculptures. The exhibition text is mostly in Danish with some shorter English and German translations - if you don’t speak Danish, you miss out on a fair bit of the rather wild narrative of Knudsen’s life which is a shame (I suppose the Google translate app helps if you don’t have a Dane to bring with you, as I did). Wir müssen gestehen, es ist zwar nett angelegt, aber irgendwie dennoch lieblos und wenig detailliert. Beschilderung etc alles nur auf dänisch, sehr selten Mal ein Schild auf deutsch. Da ist Potential nach oben. Für Touristen somit eher weniger geeignet, sofern man nicht alles mit dem Handy übersetzen will. Der kleine wegzettel auf deutsch hat uns da leider auch nicht wirklich viel Informationen gegeben. Zudem war es dort absolut nicht rollstuhlgerecht. Der Herr an der Anmeldung hat unseren Rollstuhl Fahrer gesehen und gegrüßt und ich habe extra einen Rollstuhl Fahrer angekündigt. Es wurde der volle Preis abgerechnet und uns wurde absolut nicht gesagt, dass es für sie unmöglich ist dort die Häuser zu betrachten.
