Ørnereservatet - Eagleworld — Attraction in Hjørring Municipality

This is a unique experience of some of the world's largest and rarest birds. The show lasts an hour and is presented by the bird handlers who show off the traditional falconer hunting practices and training methods. You get to see the large birds up close as well as in free flight under the open sky. The handlers are knowledgeable and the presentation is done in Danish as well as English. Theater seating on benches means good views for everyone - but consider bringing a blanket since it can be cold to sit still for an hour outside. Better for 10+ kids. We had a wonderful time watching these majestic, awesome predators show off their hunting skills. Bring a good camera with a long lens if you can, there will be tons of great photo opportunities. It simply is not clear that there is no entry after the show begins. We drove an hour and were delayed until about 10 minutes after the show started, and the gates were shut. Another reviewer mentioned something similar, and the response from the business owners was that it is clearly stated on their website, but honestly it is not. I looked pretty carefully at the website before and after and still did not really find anything apparent that said it would be a waste of time to show up late. It should be the first thing you see on the website (at least that the show IS the business, and nothing else, really), and it should be reflected in the Google listing open hours. Coolest place in Denmark! Of course, using animals as people's commodities is wrong in essence. But here birds seemed to be very well cared for and loved, and it was clearly that they have a friendly relation to their falconers. It is an exceptional way for children (and grown-ups) to see prey birds so close and learn about wildlife. I believe such shows and centers help to build respect for wildlife. The show is very beautiful and exciting, we had a few thrilling moments as well :) the staff of the center is very helpful and polite.
