I like the place and the fact that they are scientifically based and not a show place for profit. However, they should offer better advice than just saying it's great for kids. For the seal/porpoise event, I showed up 10 min. early to get a space where my 3 and 5 year old grandkids could see. Waiting for 10 min. was a little hard, so I was happy to see the person in charge only slightly late. Then there was a 15 min. intro, mostly about brushing teeth on seals, followed by the actual tooth brushing, which was another 10 min. of no visible activity. There was also some talk about cutting claws (none of which needed cutting). After a 5 min. break, we switched to the porpoise section, starting with some talk, failed attempts to get a seagull to fly, and more talk while the nose of the porpoise may have been slightly above water close to the trainer. It had been about 45 min. since we started waiting, and the kids really wanted to leave. I think more detailed information, helping us to understand that kids should be older for this event, would have been helpful. The same goes for the boat ride we had reservations for, but found out when arriving that the youngest was not old enough. Anyway, we had a lot of fun with other things; not least...
Read moreVery nice staff, the team was competent and patient. They speak Danish, fluently English, in some cases even German, and love to explain everything, so you can ask them questions any time. When the seal and harbour porpoise show begins they ask if someone in the audience would like to have the commentary in English. The shows are three times a day and last about 20 min. There are some bassins where you can touch crabs, sea stars and different kind of "ground" fish. There is also an employee who helps you catching a crab and explains how to hold it right, including some fun facts about the animals, etc..
PS: You are allowed to enter that room, quite at the beginning, from the "main bassin room", next to the tiny aquariums. It seems, no...
Her går intet til spilde.
