The ostrich farm is set up a bit like a petting zoo, except that ostriches don’t lend themselves well for petting. They are formidably looking creatures but they snap at you when you get close to the fence. The goats are fenced off and the rabbits hid themselves in their “hen house”, therefore it was not much more than looking at animals. We went there on a sunny day and did not expect very much. However, it was a cute experience. A playground for kids in front of the cafe / store is for free and invites to chillax while the kids can have fun playing or feeding rabbits. For a okay-ish price you can have a tour and learn from some people on the compound who can explain a lot about Strauss, Kudu and different animals they have behind fences. Wo soll ich anfangen? Absolut empfehlenswert !!! Ein Ausflugziel für jung und alt. Und ihr solltet unbedingt die Führung mit machen. Diese findet zur Zeit um 13.00 und 15.00 Uhr in Deutsch statt. Dauer war ca. 1,5 h Diese geht los in einem alten Ford AA. LKW. Oben offen. Geführt wurde vom Chef persönlich. Man erfährt nicht nur etwas über Strauße, sondern auch über Emus, Nandus und andere, die irgendwie alle ähnlich aussehen, aber halt anders sind. Vorbei an Wasserbüffel, Angus- Rindern und verschiedenen Hühnerarten von denen eines schwarzes Fleisch haben soll. Super interessant und wie gesagt absolut empfehlenswert. Anschließend ein Kaffe und selbstgebackenen Kuchen im Hof Cafe mit Blick auf den See. Für die Kinder ist ein kleiner Spielplatz da und wer sich noch mit selbstgemachten Sachen und Souveniers eindecken möchte findet im Hofladen bestimmt das Richtige. Ich empfehle hier den Eierlikör, von dem es am Ende der Führung eine kleine Kostprobe gab. Des weitern haben wir uns noch Würstchen, Hackfleisch und Burgerpatties mitgenommen, die wir bisher noch nicht verspeist haben, uns aber bestimmt positiv in Erinnerung bleiben werden.
