Danmarks Busmuseum — Attraction in Slagelse Municipality

I was part of a beautiful sightseeing tour with Danmarks Busmuseum situated at Skælskør. Driver and guide in perfect personal union were exceptionel ! Full of esprit and historic knowledge we were informed about history of buildings, people and society. Unforgettable experience was to explore the townhall of Skænskør with its rich and artfull interior and the explication of the consideration in past. The view from the skydeck of the bus down to the harbour with so many boats, fiskhus and old forrådshus was imposing.

I" ll never forget this tour and can suggest it to all enthusiasts of Danmarks history, society, nature and certainly to all lovers of old dobbeltdækkerbussen !

Charming museum ran by enthusiasts. There's around 80 different buses here ranging in age from the 1930s to recently. Not all are restored (yet) but the ones that have been are something special. There's also a collection of memorabilia like uniforms, tickets and signs. The descriptions in the exhibition are in Danish but the staff can translate to English for you if you so wish. Great museum! You can tell that the operators are passionate about it and are genuinely enthusiastic about buses. The nice lady at the reception told us that many people volunteer to work on the buses, which is truly admirable. The exhibits are great and most of them are open to public, so you can enter them at will. All in all, a visit...
