This aquarium might be small but it's still one of the best I've seen. For me it was important, that animals were treated right. And that's a thing you can see. The staff is kind with the animals and with the visitors. I don't know how you can be bored after one hour because there's much to read and special events every 30 minutes. I was here for more than 4 hours. What I did: - watch the feeding of the sea otter - touch snakes, crabs, sea stars and rays - feed rays - watch the feeding of whales in the big ocean tank - doctor fishes finger spa I read a lot but not all of the information on the touch screens next to the tanks. In English. You could point on the fishes and get more information. A lot. The stuff was super friendly and answered all questions while keeping an eye on the animals that no visitors do creepy things with them. At this place I want to thank Sofie very much, because she showed me so many places there. And also Simon, who told the reef stories perfectly funny, was totally kind. The restaurant was very good, too. Fresh cooked meals. All delicious. I can totally recommend this place!

The aquarium's "collection" in itself is not the most impressive compare to other world class aquariums BUT it is well organized and there are many patting areas to get up close to starfish, crabs and even stingray. The outdoor part is definitely the highlight for us. We borrowed fishing net and a bucket to fish some seaweed and small pond creatures where we can then study under our own set of tools (10x microscope included). My 5 years old daughter even got a certificate for it and she's so thrilled. There's outdoor playground with/without water, huge sandpit and we can even try to catch our own crab from the sea (tools and bait provided). The best part is all the staff members are friendly and informative. The kids are well entertained. We had a great time and will recommend it to family with (small) children. *Remember to buy your ticket online during this Corona period.

Tips: Think about your animal welfare values before you go. Tickets are cheaper online. Lockers are 10 DKK (new 10 each time you open) and you can buy a ten in the cafeteria next by. Localize other toilets than the one's next to the entrance, they can be crowded when others are not. Bring extra clothes cause kids get wet. It's quite a long walk from Kastrup and then you also walk a lot on the hard floors of the aquarium so put comfortable shoes on and prepare to carry the smallest ones. + Many animals to watch and they are all easy to see. Shark tank is huge, you see sharks and rays real close, great experience. You can touch a lot of animals which is fun for you (but not for them). Picnic area is very good for families. (Next level would be if they added a zink for kids to wash their hands, some equipment to clean the table after yourself, microwaves and recycling bins.) Playground outside is great! - Could not find anywhere to refill water bottles. Doors were super heavy! Saw children ~3-4 yo hit their heads on the doors to the restrooms, and everyone struggled to get in and out to the terrace. Should be more stools available for kids to get att better view, you have to lift them up a lot. Unevenly crowded. It was difficult to foresee where the crowd would appear and something is off with the flow that makes people go back and forth, markings on the floor are too vague. Some animals seemed to be crowded in small areas. It's difficult to imagine a wild animal trapped in some of these very limited spaces. Are they not bored? Depressed?? What to they do all day and all night? Some fish were wounded. Its not every tank that makes you wonder how bad these animals are suffering for our entertainment, but some really do.

A beautiful modern building with a dozens of small to very large tanks, including one ocean tank with sharks, rays, etc. with a tunnel. As an aquarium owner, I especially appreciate the planted tropical tanks myself, but your mileage may vary. In the middle, they have a tropics house with high humidity with a downstairs showing the underwater environment of the Amazon. On a regular basis, staff have demonstrations, including the feeding of the colorful reef fish and the feeding of the Archer fish that are shooting water at the hand of the zookeeper to dislodge the food. These demonstrations are presented in Danish, and if needed, in English. We went because it was a rainy day, so spending all day outside like the previous day just wouldn't have been a comfortable option. Took the bus from the city square and it lets out very close to the entrance of the aquarium.
