This place is a good visit if you would like to see an old lime(stone) (cave) mine and should be the main reason you are checking out this place.
There are wheelchair accessible parking lots and so is this place including the caves. Please keep in mind you are not able to buy tickets one hour before closing time.
You are walking through a massive natural environment filled with (huge) hills, trees, hiking area, picnic table area to rest and eventually see the caves.
Please don't bring any (strong) light source with you as it "could" disturb the bats (haven't seen any). The caves are filled with a walking path and it's lit up with little light sources. It could be chilly down here and it's also depending when you are going and there is no network. (I went in springtime).
The caves are enormous but you don't gain much knowledge out of things but are still impressive to experience. There are signboards with maps and tons of exit signs but you can't really get lost in here.
There are a few other buildings outside the cave but I didn't have enough time to check them out. Definitely worth a visit here!

Read moreDefinitely a visit worthy. Beautiful mines and lots of history. If you can see the old furnace and walk all over the mine. It's ok fair price and the souvenir shop has a thing or two for the once that's not there with you to see it. You can also eat there, the food looks good. But I didn't taste it so I won't tell you about that. The toilets are clean and the surrounding nature is so beautiful. It's a place where you can touch everything with your hands so it's a nice way to experience all of it. Parking is good but it's gravel. And unfortunately it's not wheelchair friendly. That's a bummer. You can however bring your dog. They are allowed in the mines and on the grounds. But as a walking person it all is ready to just take in. I can recommend this place easily. So gather up the dog and family...
Read moreMarvelous experience! There aren't many opportunities to go inside a mine, much less a dog-friendly one. Our dog loved it. This mine is home for bats (which weren't there when we visited), so there's a bat-themed playground for kids outside. Entrance to the mine + museum costs DKK 100 for adults, dogs don't pay. It's a mine and it's obviously dark, so if you plan ahead take a lamp (you can also buy mini lamps when you buy your ticket). In the museum you can learn about the Limestone Factory, almost every sign has English translation. There's also very interesting information about different...
