Flying Tony — Attraction in La Vega

We went paragliding and canyoning-both booked through Flying Tony. You go Paragliding with the company and canyoning through a different company so I will only be writing the review for paragliding (canyoning was amazing, it was our highlight of our Dominican Republic trip).

We had a car and drove to Jaraboca from Santiago-about a 2-hour drive. We met at a stadium-this part was the most challenging as it wasn't very clear where to meet but we eventually met our pilots who drove us up the mountain. The pilots don't speak a lot of English and we didn't speak a lot of Spanish so that was a bit challenging as well.

The overall experience was awesome. You got great views of the city and they told us about some waterfalls and other local things we saw. They gave you a selfie stick that took video and took pictures up that were part of the price you paid.

Some things we wish we knew-would recommend wearing pants and having bug spray. The mountains had a lot of mosquitos and so we did get bitten a bit. The mountains were also a bit chilly and pants would have been good to have (we were there in Feb).

Absolutely amazing!! Our whole family went flying with Tony’s pilot Jaime and had a blast, especially our 3 year old. Jaime was an excellent pilot and made the flight a lot of fun but also made it feel very safe. A cool way to enjoy this incredible country from a different perspective. Tony also arranged a horse tour to Baiguate waterfalls which was also a perfect family outing..a little less adrenaline but totally beautiful.

I wanted to go Paragliding. First they asked if I want to go flying at a time that was very cloudy, high chances of rain and obviously not a good time for photos anyway. Then I asked to go paragliding at 09:00. After half an hour of waiting somewhere in nowhere someone showed up that should have brought me to the start place, unfortunately couldn’t find it.
