DON’t GO TO THIS PLACE! Worst customer service ever. Me (currently pregnant), my husband, my mom and my sister (who is disabled)paid $200 dollars in transportation to go to this place from Santo Domingo only to found that they have booked a private event and couldn’t allow us in.....they didnt even let us use their bathrooms after a 2 hour ride from Santo Domingo, they didnt even care i was pregnant & my sister ia disable. They told us they were closed for the day but on their page it say they were open to the public from 10 am till 10pm. They advertise wrong hours of operations. While we were at the entrance asking to speak to management about 4 cars show up & had to leave without going in as well. That day was our last day in the Dominican Republic & we save it to come to this place only to waste our entire day driving from Santo Domingo back and forth and arguing over the phone with mangement asking & begging them to please at least let us use their bathrooms & the management was so inconsiderate they didn't even came to us to apologize in person. They just kept telling the front watch man to adhere to the rules over the radio....and I ask, what rules? The website clearly said it was OPEN until 10pm.....we got there around 2pm. They ask us to send a screenshot over whatsapp with the hours of operations info we got from THEIR OWN PAGE ... we sent it to them & even seeing it themselves didn’t do anything. Is a SHAME a place like this one has such a horrible customer service, treat us like worst of humans, inconsiderate....didnt even had any empathy for a pregnant woman & a disabled person....just FYI this place is not run by Dominicans, management lady who introduced herself as Jenny is from Colombia, & she had the guts to ask is to go back another day & that they would receive us ...SERIOUSLY? I have travel all around the world and have NEVER been treated this way. What a shame and what a bad name they giving the Dominican Republic...& to think my husband & I were thinking of investing in their future properties ...& we wanted to check out the place & gather more info about it. Do not invest here, I recommend you to go to Punta Arenas in Bani or Casa Bonita in Barahona....both great places with empathy to customers and amazing customer service: they could school & teach this management some customer service and business administration...I doubt administrators of this place even have a business degree. The Worst! DONT GO TO THIS PLACE. If i could give them a - 100 stars I would....but lowest is one star here on google. Do not invest here! Do not spend your money here. You run with the chance they dont let you in just like us and 5 more cars werent able to (& this waa only for one hour): im sure many more people go through this all the time. Paid $200 in transportation to get there & they don’t even care... Horrible...
Read moreThe team communicated with me in a clear and timely manner via WhatsApp. They communicated well with the team at the compound, for the most part. I ordered the complete experience and that was worth the asking price. The welcome Libya drink was absolutely delicious! The food and service in the restaurant was great - it took a long time for the food to come, but it’s likely because the food was prepared fresh. The garlic shrimp that a neighboring table ordered smelled so good! The pizza looked delicious too. The wine tour was informative. I didn’t enjoy being a translator, so I wish they had the tour recorded in English as the tour guide didn’t speak English. The wine tasting was awesome. The tour guides passion fruit grappa was better than the wine, tbh, and I wish they sold it. Still, I’m happy the owners give the knowledgeable tour guide the freedom to create. The wine combos are a great price, as well. It’s too bad you can’t find them at the duty free stores in the airport! The infinity pool was cool and relaxing. This was my first vineyard tour and wine tasting and I highly recommend it. The only downside is that if you are traveling alone or with one or two other people then the only options close by are villas, an expensive all inclusive (not worth it if you are in that region for one day). However you can stay at a small hotel in San Jose de Ocoa, which is about 50 minutes away. Drive an SUV not a sedan because the roads are not low...
Read moreA vineyard in the caribbean? Best place ever! We went to Ocoabay on sunday, we were a group of 7 adults. We arrive early, an hour before the opening. We took advantage of that time to enjoy the view and make a lot of awesome pictures. The vineyard is beautiful, the entrance is a road full of flowers and an awesome view. They received us with a delicious "welcome cocktail", while we were waiting to start our tour, next to the pool. During the tour, we stop in a few spots, one of those was the room with the equipements to processed the grapes; our guide was Albert, he show us how the process is, thedifferents types of grapes, the origin... he also guided us in the winetasting, Albert is a great hostest, with a full knowlege of the vineyard, and marvelous atentions. Sarah was in charge of the charcuterie, with an exquisit artisanal tamarind jam and artisanal cheese, they with all the staff maded our experience extraordinary. After the winetasting we went back to the pool area, we swinmed, we had lunch, the food was delicious, we uncorked a few bottles of that exquisit wine and enjoyed a wonderful day, we left about 6pm. We defetnely recommended the place, so add it to your places to visit list you wont regret. Thanks OcoaBay for the...
