Just want to say the tour was great and we learned a lot. I found it very interesting that they use expired bourbon barrels as I did the bourbon trail a few years ago.

Another interesting aspect is that bourbon is aged with the barrels on their sides while rum barrels are on end. Our guide said they have a very big problem with loss due to evaporation over time, so curious if by placing on end it reduces the surface area exposed to the evaporation process.

Rum from the factory is CHEAP. if you can get a tour buy all your rum on site. The bottles we got sold for $100+ on the resort, but we're...

A very educative and enrichment experience: Centro Histórico Ron Barceló offers a Guided Tour of their factory and explain the whole creation process of their Awarded World Class Rum. Their very friendly and helpful tour guides explain every single phase of the Rum creation process: from the sugar caine distilled alcohol, the aging process and finally the packing and distribution of the Rum. They also take you to their Museum and explain the History of Rum and history of their Company. At the end of the Tour, they let you taste their diverse line of Rums. Definitely a nice visit if...

Definitely worth visiting or making a trip if you are somewhere in the area. Make a reservation for the Imperial experience with tasting, factory visit and museum. Great experience with our tour guide Sergio, who have shown us his and his branf's passion for rum. Delicious rum tasting with a lot of background information about the whole production process and history of the distillery, its founders and roots.

Do not be scared about the security at the entrance, it is a serious business establishment, not only a...

The Imperial experience has gone up in cost but still well worth it (We've done it twice). The guides are very engaging and knowledgeable, and the tasting experience is quite interesting and informative. Price of rums are lower at the shop, but, if possible, make sure to know what you want before hand and price it outside first. There are instances where some local vendors have specials and promos that will bring prices down even lower than the prices at the factory. Regardless, this is definitely an experience to be enjoyed.
