awesome landscape, although the Twin Craters are not eruption craters, they are of volcanic origin since they were formed by magma domes which hardened on the outside but continued to flow on the inside, leaving huge but empty chambers that collapsed with the passing of time.

The Twins are located in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island and are surrounded by lush and green forests, dominated by the endemic Scalesia plants. It is nice to walk along the rim of the craters to better appreciate the magnitude of the holes as well as the local...

These twin collapse craters are an amazing geological feature of Isla Santa Cruz in Galápagos and an incredibly peaceful area. Also a great place to see some beautiful endemic plant species, such as the equally amazing "Tree Scalesia", by far the largest member of its genus (the entirety of which is endemic to Galápagos and a wonderful example of adaptive radiation), members of the daisy family, reaching more than 15...

Good-precioso

Los Gemelos was our very first stop on our Honeymoon, and it was so unbelievably gorgeous! The craters were created 3.5 million years ago, and the pictures do not do justice to the immense beauty of this island. It was a short stop, but it really introduced just how spectacular and special these islands really are. I also thought the blackberry sign depicting the invasive species was really funny!
