Punta Vicente Roca — Attraction in Parroquia Tomás de Berlanga (Santo Tomás)

What an absolutely amazing place on the Galapogas island of Isabela. We did a zodiac cruise to see some of the wildlife including sunfish. The highlight was however the snorkelling. We spent an hour snorkelling among hundreds of fish of all sizes and many, many turtles. The turtles are extremely relaxed and we were able to move around without upsetting them. They were also curious and at times would swim towards us. There were also sealions swimming around but we only got a brief glimpse of one. The water was cold, around 17c so a wetsuite was definitely required for our snorkel. Around the bay there were flightless cormorant, blue footed boobies and marine iguanas. The place really is a special, unspoilt...

La scogliera di Punta Vincente Roca probabilmente e stato il luogo delle Galapagos che mi e piaciuto di meno. Ho fatto una escursione di qualche ora. La escursione è consistita in una navigazione con il gommone lungo le pareti di Punta Vincente Roca, considerato un paradiso marino grazie alla ricchezza della sua fauna, dovuta alle acque profonde e all’acqua fredda. Il mare era alquanto mosso. Pertanto, i momenti più interessanti sono stati quando ci siamo avvicinati agli scogli e abbiamo potuto ammirare da vicino il frangersi delle onde e quando con la barca siamo entrati nell’imboccatura di una grande grotta. Molto belli erano gli uccelli dalle pinne azzurre che riposavano...

Relatively cool water so wetsuit beneficial. Numerous Mola mola (?30 or so at surface)and turtles (100+), smallish number of penguins, flightless cormorants and other birds. Couple of orcas chasing the sun fish....
