What a scam. We arrived by bus to the mirador, the only two people there only uttered some words to tell us we could not just wander around, it was 3$/person. After some hesitation (it just did not feel right) we finally paid and started walking up. Up top, great views from the river (but def not worth 3$) an abandoned bar, and a huge swing with suspicious safety precautions (rather nonexistent). Looked like it could once have been a welcoming lively place, not any more. On our way back down, we decided to go walk at the other part of the community, several hundred meters down the road. Same story, signs saying it was 2$ to get in, but this time nobody to greet. We walked around the community, there was absolutely nobody, just abandoned cabins and signs of some drinks / food you could get, some chicken wandering around and a locked “shaman” cabin. That’s all. A huge disappointment as we had read great comments. Later in Puyo we learnt that there had been some recent accidents with the sky swing, including some deaths.
There are other communities along the way that might be a better option today. In any case, we recommend NOT going there, let alone spending the 3$ they ask for to walk up a path that has nothing...
Read moreIndichuris is a beautiful place that is located in the province of Pastaza, near Puyo, this is an ecological project made by the Quichua community. This place is surrounded by enormous trees and amazing plants, also there is incredible fauna. You have to walk about 1 km ( one kilometer) to see a heart on the Puyo river, it’s wonderful.
I visited this place with my coworkers. We were very tired because the previous night we were at one party. My friend Daniel, Omar and I drank a lot of water when we walked to see the heart on the river. We saw a wonderful red parrot, it was the first time that I had seen a wild parrot.
Indichuris is one of those places where you can get to relax, and spend time with your friends or family. I think it is the best place in the Amazon region in Ecuador because there are wonderful landscapes, and you can see a lot of birds. You can visit a native community, they are incredible people who live in the jungle, they hunt animals to eat, and you can learn a lot of...

We went as a part of larger tour, so cannot comment on the price however there are a number of free things we were able to do during our hour there.
Exploring the caves was a fun activity, in addition to admiring the structure and design from the outside. You also had the ability to travel from one cave to another by virtue of using a tunnel.
There was also a swing on the ground level, which you could use for free if you wanted. There was a larger, paid swing at the top of the hill above us but you had to pay to use it.
There was a store/cafe as well but it had a very...
