The last stop of the walking tour of the Museo de Chobshi. It’s not quite the cave or cavernous tunnel that one might expect. Rather, it was apparently (allegedly?) a habitation of early humans in the area. The black patches are thought to be from smoke of fires by the inhabitants. From several vantage points, it surely provided protection from the elements.

This was an unknown treasure for me. These are very ancient ruins, even older than Ingapirca and very few people come by to check them out. I was told there are two special ceremonies for the Inti Raimi celebration at dusk, one is the summer and then fall equinox. I recommend you come see it. it provides spectacular views of the mountains, the Andes.

Bonito lugar turístico del cantón Sigsig. Se puede llegar en vehículo (vía en buen estado) y la caminata a la cueva es muy corta. Desde el mismo lugar se luede visitar unas ruinas, con una caminata un poco más larga, pero que no supera la media hora. Se puede ir con niños pequeños, la caminata no es exigente. El lugar está muy bien cuidado y se nota que tiene mantenimiento regular.
