LAGUNA DE GUABIZHUN — Attraction in Solano

Lovely little spot. It has just opened a tourist center with a nice cafe where you can buy delicious treats like empanadas and humitas as well as a great cafe pasado!

I have heard this laguna can also be a great place for birdwatching, if you visit the area, please be sure to stop in and enjoy some wonderful food in this beautiful space.

The park isn’t too far from Cuenca, it’s beautiful at the park, it has a great playground for the kids. The reason for three stars is the lack of picnic spots/tables and there is a building that looks like a bathroom it is not. So the fact that there is no bathroom on the playground side was a letdown. Es un magnífico lugar para pasarla en familia. Se puede hacer hasta parrilladas, pesca artesanal, etc. Desde Cuenca se llega a la parroquia Ricaurte. Lo que no me gusta es que los turistas que la visitan, no todos, no cuidan la laguna. Botan la basura por doquier, la basura deberían llevársela. Ojalá tomen conciencia.
