A beautiful place (huge!) but it isn't taken care of cleaning-wise (rubbish on the sand, extremely dirty toilets with no tissues) + I wouldn't recommend it for its safety procedures. There are no cameras (for watch-guarding) as far as I understand, which is not smart considering one guy who works there told us they once found a dead body inside! There is only 1 or 2 guards at the entrance and as far as I know, there aren't other people inside who could come to help or rescue if needed. No ambulance, too, as far as I've seen. I even tried to whistle multiple times once (with a loud whistle) and no one came to me or said they'd heard.
The place is lovely to go to at about 4pm in the summer and anytime in the winter (I'd say after 12/1 pm to avoid the sun) but it REALLY needs better security/safety measures and they need to enable camera use because it makes NO sense to ask someone to pay something like a thousand pounds to be able to enter a camera. It also needs shading elements to be set throughout the protectorate because the place is very hot in the summer and despite having a hat, sunglasses and drinking water, I was beaten by the sun on my way back from a hike. People need to rest somewhere. This is important to avoid people fainting, getting sun strokes or dying inside because of the heat and strength of sun rays.

Read moreThis place has a ton of potential for an incredible mountain bike park but there are virtually no trail markers so linking segments together is incredibly difficult unless you spend days learning the trails and mapping them out. You will spend the majority of your time here trying to find a trail and then once you find a good one you inevitably miss a turn and are off before you know it and trying to find your way back. The only well marked trail is the main Jeep’s trail/fitness route which is okay for beginners but boring if you are trying to get some rips in.
Otherwise there are endless possibilities. Lots of rocky single track. Clip ins or full suspension are ideal for the harder routes. Hard to keep your feet on the pedals on some of the more spirited sections with a hard tail and platforms. 20 EGP to get in.
If Some of the locals and group ride organizers who know the park well spent a day out there with a can of spray paint and sprayed some rocks to mark the trails this place would be a great place to mountain bike. But as is it’s more fun and exciting to rip around the city dodging...
Read moreI recently visited Wadi Degla Reserve and was thoroughly disappointed with my experience. The entire visit left me feeling bored and dissatisfied. The food service was abysmal, with orders taking an unreasonably long time to arrive. This resulted in a significant amount of wasted time and frustration.
Furthermore, the staff failed to follow the program and schedule of shows that were promised. This lack of organization and adherence to the planned activities was a major letdown. It felt like false advertising, and I left feeling like I had missed out on the entertainment that was supposed to be provided.
Overall, my visit to Wadi Degla Reserve was a complete waste of time and money. I would strongly advise against anyone seeking a fun and enjoyable outing to avoid this place, as it fails to deliver on its promises and left me feeling thoroughly...
