The Pyramid of Sahure is located in the Abusir necropolis and was built for Pharaoh Sahure, the second ruler of the Fifth Dynasty, around 2480 BC. This pyramid is notable for being the first pyramid constructed at Abusir and for its mortuary complex, which set a new standard for later pyramids of the Fifth Dynasty.
The pyramid itself, although much smaller than those of the Old Kingdom, originally stood about 47 meters high and was built using a core of limestone blocks. While the outer casing of fine white limestone has largely eroded or been removed, remnants of the pyramid’s complex architecture still remain.
The mortuary temple attached to the pyramid is famous for its exquisite reliefs, which depict scenes of Sahure's military victories, trade expeditions, and offerings to the gods. These reliefs are among the finest examples of Old Kingdom art and offer a detailed look into the life and achievements of the pharaoh.

Read morePyramids are closed and honestly not worth it. The guards (his license pictured) wanted a very large bribe to get in. If you desperately want in, pay them 100 each. It's still robbery because they know you've come a long way by taxi and wont leave without seeing the pyramids. After two minutes they'll tell you to leave, but just yl them no and keep walking. If they threaten to call the police, let them - they were the ones asking for a bribe. They just pretend to call the cops. It's best to just go to Saqarra.
They will ask for more bribes if you want to see the temple as well. If you return, they'll deny you'll ever were here and get angry if you ask...
