تعد جبال الملح في مدينة بورفؤاد عبارة عن مجموعة جبال كبيرة، تتميز بلونها الأبيض الناصع، وتتخذ مساحات واسعة تشبه جبال الثلج بالقطب الشمالي، ويمكن الوصول لجبال الملح، التي تقع في منطقة بورفؤاد من خلال ركوب المعدية المجانية عبر قناة السويس ومنها إلى منطقة الملاحات. وتستقبل شركة المكس للملاحات المسؤولة عن جبال الملح، الزائرين خاصة أيام الجمع والعطلات، وتمنحهم كراتين الملح المجهز للطعام بمقابل 20 جنيها للكرتونة. تاريخ إنشاء جبال الملح ببورسعيد تم إنشاء جبال الملاحات في بور فؤاد عام 1856 فى عهد الاحتلال الفرنسي بشكل بدائى، ثم تم تطويرها بعد تأميم قناة السويس عام 1954 وتبلغ مساحتها 6 ملايين و822 ألف متر مربع، وتنتج حوالى 300 ألف طن ملح عالى الجودة سنويا، ويتم تصدير حوالى 100 ألف طن سنويا لمختلف الدول. وقال رئيس مدينة بورفؤاد، إن المدينة تحتل المرتبة الأولى في السياحة من هذا النوع، مشيراً إلى ضرورة الاهتمام بالزائرين وتقديم كل الخدمات لهم لتنشيط السياحة الداخلية لجميع الرحلات القادمة من كل محافظات الجمهورية لمشاهدة جبال الملح ولإدخال البهجة والسرور على نفوس المصريين، لتصبح جبال الملح منافساً لجبال الجليد في أوروبا. وأشار إلى فوائد الجلوس على الملح، والذي يقوم بسحب الطاقة السلبية من جسم الإنسان ويشبه جلسات العلاج الطبيعي، موضحا أن هناك بعض الشباب يقومون بممارسة رياضة التزلج على جبال الملح، مثلما يحدث في أوروبا. ويحرص الزائرون على التقاط جلسات تصوير «فوتوسيشن»، خلال تواجدهم في جبال الملح، والتي تظهر وكأنهم على الثلوج في رحلة للقطب الشمالي أو لدولة أوروبية...
