I came here after settling in a nearby hostel, and I wasn't expecting at all were the live animals that are living in this park: Rufus Backed Wrens, Green Iguanas, Agouti, Turtles and Fish in the ponds. The iguanas I saw took possession of anywhere it walked because I didn't dare mess with its confident territorial posturing. The place looks like a cultivated rainforest with many exotic growth such as the Zingiber genus of ginger flowering everywhere among the palms and other flora. As of this writing, the park entrance fee is $1.25USD. I believe it was to be the best botanical garden experience I've...

Great place to learn about plants, vegetation and even fish. The place is self guided and confusing to navigate so I recommend buying the map to guide you around, also if you want to feed the fish you need to buy it at the front office when you pay for your tickets, we didn't know and had nothing to offer the little fishes. Get there early because it gets really hot in the afternoon and between noon and 1400 (2PM) Is lunch time and traffic will be horrible. There's also a small place kids place with slides and activities for the little ones. Overall a...

One of the few green lungs in the city, the park is large enough to be able to take walks in the middle of nature. It has trails, common areas, a small area to buy snacks and picnic areas. The place is clean, with good maintenance of the green areas. The value of the ticket is symbolic and allows you to get away from the noise of the city.

Likewise, it has a shop to buy plants, and a playground for the kids to have fun.

It is required to take a temperature, disinfect shoes at the entrance, and in theory the use of masks. Unfortunately I found some people who do not comply with the instructions and walk around the common areas without a mask, which is a bit worrying in times of high risk of COVID

Otherwise it is an incredible and totally...

I didn't think we could find a garden oasis in a big city but we did. It was one beautiful surprise after another. The turtles and fish were another surprise. The birds added another level to our enjoyment. The garden center has many varieties of plants and we found a favorite our our families we couldn't find elsewhere and bought it. Fresh coconut was the cherry on top of the cake. It was a nice retreat from the busy streets of the city. Grande chocolate banana was delicious. The staff are very pleasant and accommodating too.
