It's definitely a "must go" from the west zone of El Salvador, they don't charge you to get there, but they charge you for parking from $1 up to $4 if you have a bus, we paid $3 for a 15 seater van, there's some improvised food stores like in every park of El Salvador, but you can totally take food wich is cheaper since even if you buy food there, there's no sitting areas; We went on a Saturday so it was quite busy in the afternoon, but we got there by 8 and were the first ones in the parking lot, also the water gets hotter by the hour so in the morning it was just perfect while at 12pm it was hot enough to be uncomfortable for the sensitive skin, still absolutely worth it to go even for a couple of hours since it's relatively easy to get there, took us around 40 minutes from metrocentro Santa Ana to the parking lots and from there is like walking down the stairs of a two story building, just slightly more to get to the river and from there you just have to go down a very slippery path wich I recommend get down on bare feet and follow the water wich is less slippery than the dry looking rocks, this sounds hard but is just like 8 - 12 ft tall, looks scary the first time tho; summarizing it's a must visit place if you like hot springs, short walks and inexpensive places.

If you decided to go there, be prepare to drive slow in in adverse rocky road to the waterfall area. The road was in literally in bad condition, make sure you get a bigger car or 4x4, we rented a KIA Picanto and it was bad for it. Road conditions with deep holes and parts that had general gravel with big rocks. We paid 2$ for the parking and 1,50$ pp for the entrance. Not bad at all. Despite river was brown (because is a natural hot spring) Water temperature is hot 34C approx. Don't expect clear water !. We enjoyed so much there, once you get into the waterfalls you will enjoy that. We don't see this type of adventures here in USA. We fond Mr. Oswaldo who was help us the entire moment to cross the river to the other side and be able to walk and get down to the actual waterfalls (See photos). Due constant rain at this time, the bottles and other residual debris come from the river with its current from behind. What they need is to install a net up river to collect or reduce the amount those bottles.

El Salvador 🇸🇻 2023 Bring cash. Very small entrance fee which probably goes towards the very clean restrooms. We were the only ones there so no guides so we didnt really know where to go. Was like some crazy fun adventure! We crossed the 2 wooden scary bridges and found a staircase leading to the bottom of the falls. You cant go very much further than that but there is a spot you can climb down, very slippery, to be under the waterfalls. My video shows a safe way to climb down. The water was very hot but super refreshing. There's also a small hole where feeder 🐠 are waiting to eat the dead skin off your feet similar to the spas in Thailand. Do be kind and feed the 🐟 😅. Nice guy selling 🍦🍨. Even if not your thing please buy some to support him. Felt like we were exploring Skyrim.

Usually I never write any negative feedback, but in this case I just have to: We traveled through El Salvador in early september with our car and took the road from Atiquizaya up to the waterfall. The road was in really bad condition with a lot of road holes and parts that had only gravel and big rocks. When we finally arrived at the restaurant we had to pay 2$ for the parking and 1,50$ pp for the entrance. We walked down to the river and already saw that the river was brown and full of plastic waste as well as the sides of the river. Then we walked over to the cliff of the waterfall and were shocked by the amount of plastic floating in the ponds below the waterfall (see pictures). All in all it was not worth the detour and I can highly recommend to skip this waterfall on your trip.

I’m going to keep this short and say if you are in Santa Ana you absolutely positively must see this place. I hate putting this post up knowing that one day this will become a very popular place to see but I would also like to see Santa Anna get the credit it deserves for great places for tourism. This place was very interesting considering the water was really hot in the waterfalls were safe to jump into. Nobody was around when we went but I hear it gets busy on the weekends. It’s quite difficult to get to and only locals know the path. I would definitely not recommend you trying to find it yourself but of course it is doable. You can always hire a taxi and you know exactly where to go

Fantastic hot spring, entrance is cheap for what you get, Cars and bikes are charged extra. There’re 2 ways to get there, one is from Atiquizaya and this is the better street, the one from Ahuachapan rides through a difficult gravel road with lots of rocks. Easy to reach with a 4x4 or a dirt bike, then the way you go doesn’t matter. But if you’re with a scooter or standard car, better to go from Atiquizaya. Right at the entrance there is a small shop, in case you forgot to bring something to drink or snacks. Trash cans are around this area, so no need to throw your trash into the water.
