Such a beautiful and calm place. I found this resort by accident while looking for museums of the civil war. It cost $2.50 per person to enter the premises. Parking is cheap. They have a building where they teach the story of what happened and a memorial. I was very surprised to have found my surname all over the walls from fallen victims of war. The staff are very kind and respectful, they are made up of youth and war veterans. It's a community of survivors who have come together to make a safe place to enjoy yourself and never forget their history. They have cabin where you can stay the night for around $20. They have a restaurant with delicious affordable food, the price was under 5 dollars, chicken being the most affordable for about $3.50. The beers are 1 or $1.25 domestic. Around $2 for imported. Refreshments are very affordable. There is a river and there are two pools and a sprinkler grounds for the kids. Rentals like chairs, hammocks, kiosko/gazebo are very affordable. Honestly a hidden gem, not crowded at all. They do not get many guest during the week allowing you to have all the space that you need. The grounds are very clean, staff are constantly cleaning and reviving the place. Firearms are not allowed on premises, honestly it's very safe and there is no need for you to be armed. Even the surrounding areas are safe, from the town San Jose Las Flores to the border with Honduras. I had a great time and will be returning...
