Sõru Museum — Attraction in Hiiumaa vald

A very nice little museum near Sõru port, telling the history of Sõru. The entry ticket costs 3€, which is reasonable given the amount of items and information on display. The watchtower on the 3rd floor is amazing, and you can overlook the port and even see Saaremaa with the telescope!

Especially, the girl at the reception desk is very friendly and helpful. She speaks English very well and I enjoyed talking with her.

Музей Сыру находится в волости Emmaste, в деревне Пярна и принадлежит к комплексу Сыруского Морского центра. Музей был создан госпожой Мильви Ванатоа, и основной замысел заключался в сборе и сохранении ценностей морской культуры этого края, истории и традиций. В 2006 году здание музея было полностью отреставрировано и вдобавок к основной выставке пристроили ещё 3 зала для показа меняющихся экспозиций. На втором этаже здания находится зал для проведения семинаров, где можно устраивать круглые столы, тренинги и другие маленькие...

Hübsches sehr kleines Museum. Es hat nicht vieles zu sehen, andere haben mehr Exponate. Sehr interessant ist die Story über das "Leben" des Motorseglers von Erbauung 1937- bis zur Rückkehr nach Estland. Er liegt im Hafen an Land, nicht zu übersehen, leider sehr mitgenommen. Sehr liebenswert ist die Museumsmitarbeiterin, die uns vieles sehr hilfsbereit erklärt...
