We booked via TripAdvisor and the company Prangli. Cannot recommend this highly enough.
4 others didn't turn up so it was just the two of us with the guide who was super friendly (l'm sorryl didn't get her name) so we had almost a personal tour and it was so good. We got loads of local history from her on the journey to the waterfall which took 25-30mins, pointing out landmarks and giving us local insight that we would never have got going on our own.
Once there we had loads of photo opportunities and got to walk across the frozen lake and behind the waterfall. It was absolutely stunning, so beautiful. It was just starting to thaw so we probably got there on the last day of it being properly frozen (21st Jan). Whilst we were exploring our host set up a picnic in the snow with all sorts of traditional local snacks which were all really tasty and explained the history of them. So many little stories and facts. We even talked about how languages evolved in surrounding countries! Not to mention we got our first taste of Vana Tallinn (yum) and some home made tea which was also delicious.
It wasn't the cheapest trip at around £70 each but we got so much more from it than we would have done just getting a taxi or hiring a car and Would have spent almost as much. My only regret is that we didn't take any cash with us so we weren't able to givea tip which we absolutely felt she earned. Hopefully people will see this review and go spend their money with her as a substitute for that!

Read moreA beautiful waterfall that is tinted by the peat bogs that the water flows through. It is the widest waterfall in Estonia, though it was not at full flow when we went. There is parking on both sides. The south side has a cafe and toilets. The toilets were free to use, and they were in reasonable condition. There was nowhere to cross from one side to the other, so you would have to drive round to see both sides. You can catch buses from Tallinn to the waterfall. Once disembarking from the bus, you then have to walk a section of the route directly on the road. I do not recommend this for wheelchair users or families with young children. The waterfall is free to see. The area is not really suitable for wheelchair users. The main area is uneven and has steps. To get to the lower section, you have...
Read moreVery nice and unusual place to visit. During a spring time, the waterfall and the river are very strong, due to the level of the water. At this time you can try an extreme rafting. During a Summer time, you can cross the river across the borderline of the waterfall and try to swim under it, it’s amazing. Autumn is very colorful and inspiring, you can sit, listen, think, enjoy and use local facilities to make something in fire. At winter you can enjoy sliding and fairy tail view. Tons of joy and activities. In the stones, if you are lucky, you can find salt crystals (entertaining...
