We booked via TripAdvisor and the company Prangli. Cannot recommend this highly enough. 4 others didn't turn up so it was just the two of us with the guide who was super friendly (l'm sorryl didn't get her name) so we had almost a personal tour and it was so good. We got loads of local history from her on the journey to the waterfall which took 25-30mins, pointing out landmarks and giving us local insight that we would never have got going on our own. Once there we had loads of photo opportunities and got to walk across the frozen lake and behind the waterfall. It was absolutely stunning, so beautiful. It was just starting to thaw so we probably got there on the last day of it being properly frozen (21st Jan). Whilst we were exploring our host set up a picnic in the snow with all sorts of traditional local snacks which were all really tasty and explained the history of them. So many little stories and facts. We even talked about how languages evolved in surrounding countries! Not to mention we got our first taste of Vana Tallinn (yum) and some home made tea which was also delicious. It wasn't the cheapest trip at around £70 each but we got so much more from it than we would have done just getting a taxi or hiring a car and Would have spent almost as much. My only regret is that we didn't take any cash with us so we weren't able to givea tip which we absolutely felt she earned. Hopefully people will see this review and go spend their money with her as a substitute for that! 100% recommend. Do it.

Great to be here once more at the end of the year 2023. The waterfall is, as always, magnificent; during winter, it is usually surrounded by remarkable frozen water structures. Additionally, if you walk towards the flowing river beside limestone formations, you'll reach the beautiful confluence of two rivers. There's a quite special atmosphere here.-) A large and comfortable car parking area is available on-site (on the left side of the river). Plots for picnics and grilling are also established and popular among visitors, of course, when weather conditions are appropriate.

Wow! What a powerful place! I went there in winter and spend time there just by myself. Fresh snow everywhere, natural looking water at the frozen stone wall! Really enjoyed walking around and I recommend everyone to do the same. There are two spots where you can have a look to the waterfall and the other parking place on the other side is also a really nice perspective. 30 min by car from Tallinn, toilet boxes around - very peaceful and worth to visit.

This is a natural gift. Jägala waterfall is the largest natural waterfall in Estonia. The scene is picturesque; the surrounding area is green and peaceful. This place could be ideal for a family picnic. The waterfall is about +30 min drive from airport, and about 50 min drive from the harbor. There is a convenient parking place right near there. Also when we visited, there is a small truck food, from which you can buy sausages and hot dogs I think!

Free, no entrance fee! If you go to the north side where we were, the road is smaller and not paved but there's less people. On a rainy day it will probably be very muddy. There was short and easy access to the view, also accessible for wheelchair/walking stick etc. The way down from the north side was a small, steep path, so if you wish to access the water, go to the (official) south side, there are stairs there.

What an unexpected nature formation not far from capital Talinn. In plain land with no mountains there is nothing really to see and then suddenly waterfalls! And how amazing they are. Wide river has two levels and shallow water is gently falling from above to down part, which visually remind water curtain. Free parking and relaxing quiet surroundings made this place a worth visiting stop on journey to Narva
