Angla Windmill Park — Attraction in Saaremaa vald

Hollandi stiilis tuulik ehitati 1927. aastal. Siin saab tutvuda ajalooliste põllutöömasinatega ning suvehooajal mitmete põllumajandusloomade ja lindudega. Kohapeal on kohalikku rahvakultuuri tutvustav muuseum, kohvik, suveniiripood, peosaal. Ettetellimisel saab osaleda ka erinevates töötubades.

Hea teada: tuulikud taastati viimati aastatel 2009–2011. Avatud on nii Hollandi tuulik kui ka estakaadi tuulik. Siin saab ka piknikku pidada.

Hollantilaistyylinen tuulimylly rakennettiin vuonna 1927. Täällä voit tutustua historiallisiin maatalouskoneisiin ja kesäkaudella useisiin kotieläimiin ja lintuihin. Siellä on paikallista kansankulttuuria esittelevä museo, kahvila, matkamuistomyymälä ja juhlasali. Varauksesta voi myös osallistua erilaisiin työpajoihin.

Hyvä tietää: tuulimyllyt kunnostettiin viimeksi vuosina 2009–2011. Sekä hollantilainen tuulimylly että pukkituulimylly ovat avoinna. Täällä voit myös pitää piknikin.

The only windmill hill in Saaremaa that has preserved its appearance awaits you in Angla. Four of the five Angla windmills are typical trestle windmills characteristic of the island of Saaremaa. They were built at the beginning of the last century.

The Dutch-style windmill was built in 1927. Here, you can get acquainted with historical agricultural machines and during the summer season, with several farm animals and birds. There is a museum introducing local folk culture, a café, a souvenir shop, and a party hall. You can also participate in different workshops upon reservation.

Good to know: the windmills were last restored in 2009–2011. Both the Dutch windmill and the trestle windmill are open. You can also have a picnic here.

The most famous of Saaremaa's windmills (tuulid). The windmills are iconic, and I appreciate with how much care they're being maintained. On the other hand, I find the entry ticket price (8 euro) a bit too high for such a small area. The ticket gives access also to the museum, which is nice, and helps the valorization of the latter, but if you just want to see the windmills, everything can be seen also from the outside - there's only a very discreet wood fence to separate the visitor complex from the road. Personally, I would allow visitors to, at least, access the kohvik and the toilets without paying the ticket, but I perfectly understand the...

Parking lot + Entrance fees. More kids oriented than adult oriented, especially good in an educative vein. Angla windmill hill is not the best name for the location: yes there are windmills but also farm animals (turkey, ducks, rabbits, goats ...) that children would enjoy and two floors museum: @antique@ agricultural machinery and tools like blacksmith and forging , photographies on how was life before in Karja, all kind of life related parts and pieces.
