Sillamae Muuseum — Attraction in Sillamäe linn

An interesting look at the fascinating history of Sillamäe. The museum is small but well laid out and I especially liked the 1950s room. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, except the older lady who scolded me like I was a naughty child for walking to the end of the corridor to look at a painting and, in doing so, apparently crossing some invisible line into a prohibited area. Very awesome place - for 3€ per person we got an individualized excursion and local guidence in Russian. A lot of information about Sillamae history - suggest you to read a bit of Soviet history and a bit of history of Sillamae at least in Wikipedia.

Small but fascinating museum pieces , from different ages. Not much English, but there was a lady who I paid to be a guide , very much worth it. Learnt quite a bit, lots of old record players , from older days ,fantastic collection! Worth a visit , I spent an hour or so ! Parking available...
