I love the idea of this museum and enjoyed my visit as I have seen lots of Estonian movies, so it was exciting to see props and behind the scenes stuff from classic movies I grew up watching. There were many educational and interactive displays as well. However, I feel like this is only for people who are familiar with Estonian movies and think it will be boring for others. Also, €8 adult ticket is quite expensive in my opinion. More about the location - there's a small cafe on site which serves drinks, sandwiches, pastries (part of Carmen Cafe chain, but seemed to be without their usual a la carte menu). The museum is part of the Maarjamäe building complex, you have to walk past the castle and through a nice little park to get to the museum.

I was not sure about visiting this museum as I know nothing about Estonian films. However, I had a bit of time to waste, so I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did as it was actually quite interesting, and the artifacts themselves were worth a look even though the film link meant nothing to me. Some exhibits were interactive, which was fun. You can purchase a ticket just for this museum or a joint one to Maarjamae Castle. It is free to enter with a Tallinn card. There was a small cafe and a small souvenir area next to the ticket desk. The museum is wheelchair accessible.

A Saturday afternoon visit to the Estonian Film Museum and I was pleasantly surprised. It has a nice exhibition with lots of interactive stages and it is set up in a very logical way. The student tickets are 6€ and adult 8€ and also has a wheelchair access. There is also a small cafe and a free wardrobe. The only bit that could be improved is the parking, as there is not much room. The visit took us almost 2 hours, but if you are up for more, then right next to it is the Estonian history museum.

The idea is good, but the execution and display left much to be desired. Very few exhibits. Large, interesting exhibits were crammed into a small space. It was sad that the old, exciting cameras and lights were just placed in the stairwell, where it was difficult to see them. The costume and movie props display could have been much more versatile and better executed. There is potential, but unfortunately not all opportunities have been used. There could also be more space. I liked the outdoor area, as well as the minimalist architecture of the...
