Malolotja is a beautiful spot to camp, it isn't however a more than one-night stay camp for us. It is the most expensive camping in Eswatini & they don't accept Wildcards. Our review is based on the following:
Facilities: The ablutions were lovely, had hot water for a lovely shower. The only thing was that there were no lights at night, so you have to get into that shower before the sun sets.
Location: Beautiful location, we could, however, hear the road which is a bit of a letdown for such a beautiful spot.
Hospitality: The lady at reception was lovely, however, didn't really give us much information about the park. The Gentleman (Dennis) who looks after the campsite, came to greet us and gave us some tips on what to do which were great. Even though we died walking the waterfall & back.
Safety: I would say we felt safe, however, we are relatively close to the road.
Price: Honestly the price is way too high compared to where you can go camp in Eswatini & they don't...
Read moreGreat campsites! I felt like I was in an Northern Europe country but surrounded by blesboks... The campsites have a communal ablution block, toilets, great hot shower and place for dish washing. Each campsite has a small table and a braai area made with local stones which only added more charm to the celtic atmosphere! This Reserve was a great surprise during my trip to Swaziland! The hike starting from the picnic spot is quite easy and well marked, clear paths, beautiful landscape and we even got to see many blesbok, elands, zebras, baboons and warthogs on the way! On the other hand, the hike to the waterfalls was a complete fail! We got totally lost as the path wasn't marked at all! It took us 7h30 to do the round trip and we were happy we survived the bush, thorns, spider webs and even a snake! Before doing this hike insiste on asking the staff if the path has been revisited...
Read moreWe stayed in the chalets. Was suppose to have been there for 4 nights but after the first night decided to find other accomodation. The chalet was in a bad state of repair . We did not get bath towels and when we asked , they did send some . So threadbare . Big holes.... really!! The furniture was also badly damaged. The toilet seat was broken . They put another one in which lasted a few minutes and was broken again. There were no glasses to drink from . And the washing up rag was a old piece of a pot scouter. No bin liners. Just a general lack of maintenance and care . How sad and not a good reflection on a...
