Whole Earth is a Colour Lab. Some places are so colourful they attract the minds of an artist. Such places are spread all over the globe. They are formed by different colours of vegetation or different colours of soil due to minerals present or formed by interaction of water with different Geological formations or by geothermal activities in the ocean floor and on the land surface. One such art is unwinding at Dallol geothermal field, Ethiopia. Toughness of approach to the area withers with the view of colorful vastness of art produced by the geothermal activities. The acidic salty and hot ponds are not willing to host life. A rare phenomenon. Dallol geothermal system forms part of remote areas of the northern Danakil Depression, Ethiopia. Boost to tourism to this place will gradually make this beautiful place easily approachable and a top tourist destination. Enjoy the Earth's Charisma at...

an unforgiving corner of the Ethiopian desert where temperatures can soar to a blistering 60 degrees Celsius, and the ground itself reaches a scalding 120°C. It’s the sort of place few would ever think to visit, journey begins in Semera, the capital of the Afar Region, a place so remote it barely feels connected to the rest of the world. Travellers are not allowed to enter the area independently; they must be accompanied by local guides and armed escorts. To that end, they visit a local office to register their journey, handing over their passports and obtaining the necessary permits. The people here, the Afar, are known for their resilience and strong...

An exquisite color palette of minerals bubble up from the Earth at Dalllol. The closest thing I can compare it to is Yellowstone Park in the United States, but rather than boardwalks and pathways, visitors here gingerly chart their own trails across this crater. Guides are exceptionally important to navigate the area as in some places sulfuric acid spews from the ground. Sandals are inadvisable and a solid pair of hiking shoes will help protect your feet from harsh edges. The climb to the top of the mountain from the salt flats takes about 10-20 minutes and the scenery gets increasingly interesting and colorful the...

This is the craziest place I have ever been to (in a good and bad way). It looks and feels like a different planet. If you go there you have to be extremely careful, the conditions there are literally deadly. Every few months tourists are dying there, due to the EXTREME heat and because it’s easy to get lost there. Stick to your tour guide and your group- then everything will be fine. Drink A LOT of water!!

One of the most lowest and hottest, as well as one of the most the active geological site in the African great rift valley. #Dalol “ Dalol is Completely unique, a site resembles science fiction more than anywhere else that is actually real” Bridport and Lyme Rigs News

🇬🇧 Located 125 mt below sea level, is one of the lowest depressions in Africa, and one of the hottest places on Earth with average temperatures of 35C. The acid lakes bubbling in this remote desert are one of the most incredible landscape in Africa.
