Conosce l'arabo, l'amarico e l'omoro, diviene un abile commerciante e fu il primo uomo bianco ad esplorare l'Odagen. Intrattiene rapporti con il Re Menelik (quello che ha vinto gli italiani nel loro primo tentativo di colonizzazione). Schietto e integro vive in modo autoctono in Etiopia, dove è molto amato. Mentre è ad Harar, la sua fama di poeta dalla metafora audace e dal linguaggio evocativo esplode in Francia (e poi nel mondo). Non se ne interesserà, poco gli importa la fama. Continua a vivere ad Harar, ma una malattia (la stessa per cui era morta la sorella a 17anni) lo colpisce. Deve tornare a Marsiglia, gli viene amputata la gamba. It’s a beautiful building in Jegol, house of form French poet Arthur Rimbaud who was given shelter in Harar. There was photos of the old Harar taken by Rimbaud which is the major attraction. You will see how much has changed or remained. Take a nice walk around and on all the floors to get a wholesome experience. The building has a beautiful souvenir shop too if you want to buy decorative & colour handmade baskets. I was disappointed that there was no guide per say to walk us through different parts...
