One single element of this area by itself is just ok, but combine it all together and it's quite spectacular. Not many places where you're surrounded by a natural amphitheatre with waterfalls and turf roofed houses. We were originally not going to come here since I read reviews of the "beach parking" to the south and thought it was for Saksun in general, but you can enjoy the scenery for free if you come to the north side of the river. One of my favourite places...

Really quaint little village. But the place is beautiful and it’s nature that is the best part of it. Marvelous views over the lagoon and if you walk through the valley you get out to the beach by the sea....

None of these reviews mention the unpleasant aggressive bully who terrorises visitors - nor the fat 200 DKK per person charge to walk. These reviews have been cleaned up. Look on...

We were originally not going to come here since I read reviews of the "beach parking" to the south and thought it was for Saksun in general, but you can enjoy the scenery for free if you come to the north side of the river. One of my favourite places in the Faroes.
