This fell short if my expectations as I've visited lots of gardens. I do not feel it was worth the entry fee and travelling time to get here. Could have easily given this one a miss.

The road leading to this garden is a dirt road and very bumpy. Our taxi driver went so slow similar to a walking pace and was getting overtaken by vans and other cars. There were times I thought the gravel and rocks would damage the car but luckily this didn't happen.

This might be worthwhile if you are a fan of orchids. The website states there are 2,000 different types of orchids. They are located at the start of the walk. If I had known this I would've slowed down and attempted to take them in. I'm from Brisbane so for me excluding the orchids this felt like a rainforest walk. I was familiar with a lot of the trees and plants growing here.

It was hot on the day we visited and we also had our 10 month old with us. If you are bringing your little one don't bother with a pram as you'll have to leave it at just after the orchids section/ toilet block (at the beginning) unless you want to carry it up lots of stairs. The stairs are they are not equally spaced apart so you really need to pay attention where you are stepping.

If you are after a view follow the signs to the lookout. It's quite steep so it may not suit all ability levels and there are only two spots with shade. While there was a nice view at the top it wasn't spectacular. We didn't spend much time up there.

It didn't take us much time to walk through the garden and return to the entrance. The driving time to and from Nadi was more than the amount of time we spent in the garden.

At the end of the walk you get a sweet drink and you can sit down in shade. Disclaimer: the last photo I've included is of the 'Sleeping Giant' but I took this from Port Danarau and not on the way to...

Incredibly disappointed by our experience at the garden of the sleeping giant. I can only assume that most visitors come via a tour group and don't encounter the same issues that we did, so if you're wanting to come here not via a pre purchased ticket or tour group, then beware. Firstly, the location they've pinned on Google maps is incorrect and is pinned about a kilometer further than where they're actually located...when you see the sign on the dirt road, turn left down the road, it's not clear that it's the entrance but it is. Also they specify their hours on their website as 10 to 5 but on their sign at the premises and on Google it says 9 to 5, so who knows which one is correct. The most frustrating part though is that they're cash only..something I can't see specified anywhere on their website or google listing. They also don't even have the option for you to purchase tickets online at the premises, I personally find it ridiculous that they expect us to be carrying $150 Fijian dollars in cash for 6 tickets. I'm giving it 2 stars as they at least allowed half of our group to wait in the entrance area (we had enough cash for half the group to go in) and probably by accident they gave us the complimentary beverage to sip on while we waited for the rest of our group. Think these issues are very easily fixed, and I hope they do so as it seems like a...

Do you Love Nature? If so I recommend you visit 'The garden of the sleeping giant '. It's lush healthy garden and vibrant flowers, plants and foliage is a beautiful sight to see. Its stunning bright, bold colors and sweet pleasant fragrance gave a calm tranquil peaceful feeling.  As I walked along the path exploring and taking in all the information by the private tour guide.  I was amazed at how knowledgeable he was of the plant species.  He also was happy to answer all our questions in relation to them.  At the end of our garden tour we were given a complimentary cold tropical juice, which tasted delicious.  We sipped our tropical juice while relaxing in the comfortable lounge sitting area.  The restrooms 🚻 are kept very clean and is in a seperate small building located behind the lounge sitting area.  There are sufficient amount of parking, if you choose to drive to the garden in your hired vehicle.  Whilst I was there an event team were setting up for a Garden wedding function on the lawns and it looked beautiful.

I would like to thank the staff there for the lovely service.

Another place to visit while in Nadi is the Namaka Mini Market on Queens Road. They have a wide variety of fresh produce at a...
