We had a beautiful swim at Saweni Beach and enjoyed being almost the only people there. It's true there is some rubbish, but not so much that it made the beach unattractive to use. There are also pieces of glass on the beach as others have mentioned, but if you wear shoes or just look where you're going then it's not a problem. We walked about 150m down the beach from the vehicle access point to sit in the shade of the big trees and there was barely any glass down there. The golden sands are beautiful and we saw fish leaping out of the water. The sea floor is soft and feels kind of muddy except for the odd plant or tree root. I'm guessing mangroves used to grow there like at either end of the beach. Overall, Saweni Beach could do with a bit of cleaning up but it is a great spot for peace and privacy.
