Aulanko Observation Tower — Attraction in Hämeenlinna sub-region

Visiting the Aulanko Observation Tower was awesome. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking, and I highly recommend it.

Getting there from the city center is a bit of a journey, especially if you don't have a car. We took Bird scooters halfway and walked the rest. Just a heads up—Uber isn't available, so don't count on it for the return trip. But honestly, the walk was worth it. The path up is really pretty, with a lake and lots of greenery.

There's a small café at the top, but it only serves snacks. So, if you're planning on having a big meal, you'll be disappointed.

All in all, it was a great experience and totally worth the effort...

We stumbled accidently across this place when finding a place for lunch. And oh my we were in for a treat.

For free you could walk to the tower and stay on a beautiful observation deck or you could also choose to traverse the many stairs to the top of the tower. Quite the view, our original plan was to visit pulji tower, but this tower satisfied our needs and it was for free!

Learning lesson for the day is to never skip checking Google maps for local sightseeings because you might miss something just because it is not popular on TripAdvisor or...

This park is a perfect place to hike around, in the summer and winter. We did a hike around the lake in the winter; it was really nice hiking in the snow. The lake was frozen over and there were a few skiers skiing around the lake. Nothing was open in the winter but we could still go up the tower part of the way and could oversee the lake. There's little cave down from the tower with statues of bears. In the park there's a Russian style pavillion which is nice...
